A REAL Love Story

Once upon a time there was a woman who had been married twice, and she was NEVER going to get married again. She had been divorced for 4 years and dating was not even going well. She had decided that growing old alone was just going to be a way of life for her.

Now her daughters and her sisters and her friends all had other plans. They all had taken turns in trying to set her up, but it usually ended the same way...... either she was too busy or they didn't like her kids or the job got in the way or she didn't like him or he didn't like her. Anyway she had grown very content with her new life. She loved her independence and her job and her kids were growing up nicely and ending high school, starting high school and one starting college. They were independent and she had time to read books and watch TV other than cartoons...

Then the whole world changed..... Now my bestest friend and the girls step-mother, had a new neighbor move in and she was SURE I needed to meet this guy. She had already showed him my picture and he wanted to MEET me! ! !

We met on a rainy 4th of July........ I had left a note on his door, something straight out of high school. Due to the rain, we met up at the apartments where him and Brandy both lived instead of downtown where every year they do an awesome fireworks show. Talk about nervous ......... I went through the entire list of things the girls COULD NOT say and finished with .......... DO NOT EMBARRASS me ! ! !

Going up to Brandy's door which was next door to Bobby's was nerve wracking. Here I was with 3 Big Kids in tow, a sister, a niece, a nephew, a couple of the daughters boyfriends and Mariah's best friend. What a crew, and I was thinking this was a good ideal ? ? ? I just brought all these people on a date with me....... Really, What was I thinking. I didn't even knock on Bob's door we were all outside of Brandy's discussing what and where we were going to fire off fireworks and Bobby just came walking out his door.

First impressions DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE..... I was stopped in my tracks by this very handsome man. This guy was TALL, sandy blond hair, blue eyes, worked out and had a great smile. I don't even know what I said...... I shook his hand and just kind of stared....... and the beautiful moment was broken up by some kid farting ! ! !

Farting around that is and someone pushing someone else and Megan yelling and Brilee crying and shooting off illegal fireworks directly behind the Pocola Police Department.... REALLY.... What were we thinking? After watching the mayhem and treating burns and having one kid after another load up on my lap, it was way late, dark, wet and we were out of fireworks. I gathered my gang and was thanking this guy for a nice evening, when he asked my eldest daughter, if he could take me out for a late snack and drink and be able to get to know me better.

Of course Leslie said YES, and all of the kids got to put in their 2 cents about what we could and couldn't do.

I don't know what time we got to Denny's and I don't know what time we left all I know is that we spent about 4 hours talking. We went through everything. I learned things about him and he learned things about me, that I'm sure most people don't talk about on there 1st dates. But we just seemed to throw our cards on the table, to put it all out there, and what did it matter anyway..........

I was sure he would never want to see me again........... and come to find out............ he thought the very same thing that night.
